Literature Text

i remain.

i am the vault of each secret of the stars.
i am the lights carrying each sailor to safety.
i am the dream voice healing your wounds,
draining you of blood and breathing in blue.

i am the light.

the Dread of the Night.
every night i hypnotize
the very children of the earth,
who bulge out of the ground
but cannot break free.
their faces i see with eyes and mouths naught,
their tongues i see battling with its flexibility.

muffled cries of desperation,
all my lovers scream.
i need a lover i do not need to love.
rest i never shall, til each unbroken
shall be broken once more.

i am the light.
untouched.
          unscathed.
                    unhurt.
                           unsaved.

why do you stare, you petty daughter of Eve?
fear do you not, my power and beauty?
do you wish to be broken and ravished like
anyone who ever dreamt beyond my light?
do you stare in awe, petty daughter of Eve?
have you not seen me driven to insanity?
your eyes of envy and eternity shall
allow you the comforts of never coming back.

do you wish to fly, petty daughter of Eve,
on my wings of white and melancholy?
if you hear hard enough you will hear,
the screams of those before you, my dear.
or perhaps you are pure, petty daughter of Eve.
perhaps you won't be able to see what they see.
your sight shows no sign of lust
just the vacancy of sleeping dust.

i'm afraid you've won my fonding, o daughter of Eve.
the way your hair has the midnight breeze
the way your eyes twinkle brighter than all stars
the light in you, shining, to take every scar
the way you wish to dream, o daughter of Eve
the way you won't rest til all rest with thee,
fly on light, you arousal of my heart
your dreams were never mine to ever break apart.

you are drifting through the night, o daughter of Eve
you are flying on my light finally.
no one could do what you've had impulse do
to me and to every being out to see you.
you are making me dwell, o daughter of Eve
i wish to serve you for as long as thee
will beckon to me in times of every need
to make every moment an eternity.

you are the girl who flew on light, o daughter of Eve
you dreamt beyond courage, strength and beauty
you shall grow wings and return to the sky
because no one can ever know about tonight.
farewell to thee, you petty daughter of Eve
you are a dreadful hard thing to defeat
speak to angels of how you got the Dread of the Night
to make you the girl who once flew on light.
